Tomorrow (Tuesday December 17th) is the last day for Christmas orders to the UK from my UK shop. And I’ll be away from the office from December 20-January 3 so if you need something for the start of January, get your order in now.
The Case Of The Forked Road is over! Feel free to re-read it from the start and see what you missed. Bad Machinery is taking a break until the spring (date TBC), when a new case begins. Rather than fill the gap with a self-contained story, I’ll be plugging the gap with New Bobbins strips until then. The last story was hard work, and I feel like I need to do something a little more open-ended for a month or two. I hope you’ll tolerate my digression - most weeks there should be comics on Saturday, and larger Sunday strips. I’ll stick these pages away in the Bobbins archive when I’m done but I’ll leave them on the front page for now - there’s no point making you hunt for them every day.
So there are seven comics this week, then every day next week Charlotte and Shauna review the albums of the year. They promise that their opinions are “well incendiary” and “extreme thoughtful.” Comics resume on December 30th.
I’d like to thank all my readers for making 2013 so enjoyable. I’ve never had more fun making comics than I’m having now and I hope that shows.
In my UK shop I have a few things you can’t get elsewhere - various prints, personalised books, teatowels etc. I’ve also got all my Giant Days, That and Murder She Writes books in stock, some of which won’t be on Topatoco until the new year. I ship all this stuff myself, and if you want it by Christmas and you’re outside the UK, I would strongly advise you to get your order in by Thursday morning GMT (the 5th). If you’re in the UK, the sooner the better, but the final deadline is December 17th. After that, I will be nailing the doors shut until the new year.
I’m sorry not to be able to offer postcard drawings or small commissions this Christmas. Pressure of other work, alas. If you want a character drawing, your best bet is to order a personalised book.
With the giving season imminent, may I make a small suggestion? Give Bad Machinery - The Case Of The Team Spirit to someone you like a lot. Packed with new pages, extra items and added polish in a luxurious large-format book,...
I’ve just added Giant Days 3 to my store. Giant Days 1 is back in print too. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL! I’ve also got a host of new combo packs allowing you to mop up some of my best stories at a price that’s right.
You want me to draw something in them and sign ‘em to you or a close personal friend? That’s okay too! I spoke to a doctor and they said that these self-contained yarns are an ideal gift for someone you want to impress.
